San Miguel

On a hillside on the edge of the Centro Historico in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, we designed a getaway home for an American couple.  The simple street facade opens to an interior courtyard leading to the house entry.  The back of the house opens to a view of the Presa de Obraje resevoir and historic dam.  The Charco de Ingenio botanic gardens are across the canyon.  Local materials were used where possible. We worked closely with local architect/contractor Mario Gasque Vilar who was able to steer us in the right direction in completion of the project.
